EXTENDING YOUNG MINDS

We value guiding the new generation to future technologies by sharing our knowledge, experiences and enterprise network. 

We are in partnership with Istanbul Bilgi University and in collaboration with Prof. Dr. Ahmet Denker since 2018. For fall and spring semesters, our teammates lecture accredited courses in the faculty of engineering in scope of extended realities:

  • Augmented Reality (AR): is created by enhancing real life objects/environments with a digital overlay.

  • Virtual Reality (VR): is an immersive digital environment that can replicate lifelike physical environments or portray a fictional artificial world, and makes the user feel they are immersed in that environment in real-life.

  • Mixed Reality (MR):

 

As GarageATLAS team, we are the first in Turkey and one of the rare in Worldwide to achieve Extended Realities in academic level with the following bundle of courses that complete each other to make students gain required creative and technical skills to become professionals to develop extended realities applications:

 

SPACE GEOMETRY AND PRO MODELING TECHNIQUES

This course provides the students the opportunity to create their own design solutions in realistic 3D graphics. A widely adopted software application (3D Studio Max) is taught and used in this course.

Upon successful completion of the course, students are able to;

  • Acquire the knowledge and notion of space geometry

  • Develop structures of 3D modeling

  • Build up multi-object constructions

  • Develop models in 3D

  • Acquire competency in modeling techniques using 3D Studio Max

  • Use lighting, material mapping, cameras and special effects with skills

  • Apply ray tracing and mental ray rendering techniques to have professional level finishes

  • Master basic design principles

 

 

GAME ENGINES

This course aims to teach students the basics of animation and visual effects techniques used in movies as well as basics of 3-D modeling.

Upon successful completion of the course, students are able to;

  • Master animation techniques using the Unreal Engine 4 game engine

  • Create movie effects using the Unreal Engine 4 game engine

  • Master game development skills using the Unreal Engine 4 game engine

  • Master hands-on coding skills regardless of the coding background by using Blueprint technology in Unreal Engine 4 game engine

  • Learn game designing in all aspects

INNOVATION IN SCOPE OF EXTENDED REALITIES

Starting with a historical sketch, this course shows how Augmented, Virtual and Mixed Reality techniques are nowadays applied. In this course, students get more familiarized with the applications of their skills in industry and human life.

Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to;

  • Understand the concept of Augmented Reality

  • Understand the concept of Virtual Reality

  • Understand the concept of Mixed Reality

  • Generate solutions by using XR techniques for the problems in industry or human life

  • Learn project development stages

  • Develop a conceptual XR project

  • Develop prototypes of their project

  • Gain presentation skills for their work to industry

 


 

EXTENDED REALITIES

 

This course describes the relations between hardware and software components of the existing technology and gives an overview of its application and potential in various sectors.

Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to;

  • Understand the details of Augmented Reality

  • Understand the details of Virtual Reality

  • Understand the details of Mixed Reality

  • Apply the previous course skills for developing AR, VR and MR applications

  • Develop team skills and interdisciplinary collaboration skills

  • Understand the behaviors and needs of extended realities applications within the existing relevant industrial sectors

 

AKDENIZ UNIVERSITY

UNDERWATER ARCHEOLOGY RESEARCH AND VIRTUAL RECONSTRUCTION

We do not only value the future technologies but we value the reality of our ancestors in history. We collaborate with Akdeniz University in Antalya, Turkey and with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hakan Öniz since 2005. With the university team, we participate in Tunç Wreck underwater archeological site dives.

 

Architecture team of GarageAtlas carries the architectural project design & build of Kemer Underwater Archeological Museum in Antalya, Turkey which will display the wrecks and ruins of this underwater discovery.
